A group of student leaders came together to investigate the impact of the Digital Divide on their local North Fair Oaks Community. Then, they wanted to do something about it!

NV4Y is…
where students handle equipment and learn the skills of video production: storytelling, interviewing, and editing.
Through video and social media, they’ve addressed housing equity, educational disparity, race and micro-aggression, and the digital divide –– from their unique perspectives.
With us, students will work in teams to:
Through their participation in the New Voices For Youth Program, students develop skills, including:

2022-2023 Programs:
NV4Youth weekly video classes at Siena Youth Center
Located in the North Fair Oaks Community, members of the Siena Youth Center can join the SYC/NV4Y/¡Conectémonos! video crew. Open to students between the ages 11-19.
The NV4Y Winter video program begins in January 2023.
Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula
NV4Y sponsors a video club at the East Palo Alto Moldaw-Zaffaroni Clubhouse. Open to high school students, the club meets weekly in-person and as-needed, virtually.
¡Conectémonos! Help Desk
NV4Y sponsors a weekly bilingual Help Desk at the North Fair Oaks Library.
Staffed by high school students who are supported and trained by New Voices Program Managers, the Help Desk meets Mondays from 6:00PM-7:30PM.

Internship Opportunities
Not an SYC Member but still want to learn film production and be part of our program? Contact the program managers at contact@newvoicesforyouth.org about an internship opportunity. NV4Y Alumni are encouraged to participate! Expand your filmmaking skills and help us engage upcoming students.
